Depending on your daily needs, you may find that this is the perfect travel companion. If you have been on the hunt for an affordable power bank, you’ll be plenty pleased and surprised to discover what this unit has to offer.
Is KMASHI a Good Portable Charger?
The KMASHI 10000mAh power bank is a robust little unit that delivers the goods in all the right areas. While it isn’t the most compact 10000 mAh charger on the market, it’s highly durable and built to last.
Sure, it’s a little thicker than other similar power banks. But we like that. It makes the power bank feel rugged and durable. The charger is nicely rounded along its edges, giving it a comfortable feel in your hands. It’s very lightweight, too. So it’s easy to pack around wherever you go.
If you want a well-crafted power bank you can rely on, KMASHI has you covered. But what makes the KMASHI 10000mAh such a spectacular buy is its stellar price.
You can nab this power bank for a fraction of what its competitor’s charge. And that’s part of the charm of this portable charger. It’s so incredibly affordable, costing no more than a few trips to Starbucks. With value like that, can you really afford not to invest in this power bank?
And when you factor in the great build-quality and comfortable design, KMASHI delivers an excellent power bank worthy of your attention.
How Long Does the KMASHI Portable Charger Last?
Throughout our testing, we were able to get a lot of juice out of the KMASHI 10000mAh power bank. There is certainly a difference when charging across different devices. We tested various tablets, as well. But we were only able to get around 75% of a complete charge.
Lower-end tablets would charge around 1 to 1.5 times on a single charge of the KMASHI. If you have both smartphones and a tablet(s) that you need to keep charged while you’re away from home, we recommend investing in another portable power. This will ensure that you have plenty of juice for all of your devices.
The KMASHI 10000mAh is definitely geared more toward smartphones than it is tablets. This is due to its 10000mAh battery capacity. With that being said, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use it on your tablets.
This power bank is great as an emergency external battery when you absolutely have to use your tablet. Just bear in mind that you won’t be able to get as much charge as you would charging a smartphone.
Below, you will find various smartphones and the results we got with each test charge. Note that the higher-end devices didn’t get as many charges as lower-end models.
- iPhone SE – 6 charges
- iPhone 6S – 5.7 charges
- iPhone 6 – 5.5 charges
- iPhone 6 Plus – 3.5 charges
- iPhone 6S Plus – 3.7 charges
- Samsung Galaxy S6 – 4 charges
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge – 3.8 charges
- Samsung Galaxy S7 – 3.2 charges
- Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge – 2.7 charges
It’s also important to note that we were consistently charging throughout the day. You may get different results based on your usage and the devices you are charging. It’s possible that you will get more or less usage out of your power bank than we did.
This is especially true if you are using lower-end smartphones. It’s possible that you will be able to charge up to eight times or more. You’re always going to get more usage with “lesser” devices. The opposite is true with newer, more power-hungry smartphones and tablets.
But as long as you use this power bank for what it was designed to do, you will be pleased with its performance throughout the day.
How Do You Know When the KMASHI Portable Charger Is Fully Charged?
The KMASHI 10000mAh power bank comes equipped with 4 LEDs that show you how much juice is left in the power bank. This handy addition is great for planning ahead if you’re leaving for the day or taking a long trip.
We advise you to charge up your power bank(s) overnight before leaving for vacation, for example. This will ensure that you are adequately juiced up and ready to go. This is also wise if you travel often for work and need to have access to your devices throughout the day.
How Long Does It Take to Charge the KMASHI Power Bank?
During our testing, we were able to get a full charge on our KMASHI 10000mAh in as little as 5 hours. It’s important to note that you don’t get a wall charger with the power bank. We were using a 5V wall charger when we recharged in 5 hours.
You can use a lower voltage charger, but the KMASHI 10000mAh power bank will take longer to charge. We decided to test out charging the power bank using one of our smartphone’s charging blocks. The results were nearly 10 hours to fully charge the 10000mAh external battery.
Fortunately, you can pick up a 5V wall charger for pretty cheap. If you don’t already have one, we recommend investing in one if you travel frequently. This will save you lots of time on charging and will ensure that you are prepared for the following day.
Review
KMASHI 10000mAh Portable Power Bank
During our time testing this 10000 mAh power bank, it became clear that KMASHI knows what they’re doing. The build quality and construction of this power bank is incredibly solid. It has a really good weight to it, making it perfect for commuters and traveling.
If you like to walk or take a jog, the KMASHI 10000mAh is right up your alley. At less than 10 ounces, you barely know it’s on your person. You can easily slip it in your pocket while you’re out. Biking is equally easy when carrying this power bank.
At no time did we feel weighed down when packing this unit along with us. You want a power bank that is both portable and powerful. How did the KMASHI 10000mAh fare in these two departments?
Well, it’s certainly very portable. You’ll be quite pleased with its size and weight. In terms of power, however, the power bank lacks a bit. While it’s great for smartphones, higher-end devices struggle to get fully charged. This power bank is ideal for smartphones. But we recommend getting another portable charger for your other devices.
That being said, you may certainly use the KMASHI 10000mAh on your tablets. Just be aware that you will use up most of the power bank battery life in doing so.
Smartphones, on the other hand, can be recharged several times over on a single charge of the power bank. KMASHI definitely delivers on that front. If you want a power bank for smartphones that you can rely on for all-day usage, this is the unit for you.
It’s quite rugged for such a compact power bank, too. If you like to go on hikes or bike rides, this unit will serve you well. You shouldn’t have to worry about drops or bumps, as it’s quite solid in its construction. It sports a smooth finish that feels really nice when you’re holding it.
You get access to two USB-A charging ports in this power bank. This is handy for long car rides when your spouse or kids need to charge up. You can easily charge both devices at the same time without issue.
There is a micro-USB charging port that is reserved for charging up the power bank. You may use this with any micro-USB charging cable and charging block to recharge the power bank. But as we discussed earlier, you’ll want to invest in a 5V all charger if you plan on charging the power bank quickly.
We like that you get a micro-USB charging cable included with the power bank. If you already have a decently powered charging block, you will benefit from faster recharge times. If you own an iPhone, you will also need to provide your own charging cable (like a Lightning cable, for instance).
We also appreciate seeing LED indicator lights on the power bank. Armed with a total of four lights, you can readily see how much life is left in the power bank at all times. This is incredibly handy to have, as it leaves no room for guesswork when you’re out and about.
You always know where the remaining battery life is, allowing you to plan ahead. If you have a trip planned or need your smart device for work, the power bank will let you know whether you need to charge it up prior to leaving your house.
PROS
- 10000mAh – The battery capacity on this power bank is more than adequate for keeping your smartphone charged up throughout the day. You may use the power bank on a tablet. Just be aware that you will only get around a full charge from the KMASHI 10000mAh portable charger.
- USB-A Ports- We love that KMASHI included two charging ports on the power bank. This makes it a breeze to charge two devices at the same time. If you have kids who use their own devices, this feature is an absolute must-have for long car rides. Just remember that this power bank is designed predominately for smartphones.
- Protective Charging- This power bank comes equipped with protective charging technology. This feature prevents your devices from overcharging, avoiding damage to your smartphone or tablet. You also get protection from short-circuiting or power surges.
CONS
- Limited Charging – While this power bank provides plenty of power to smartphones, tablets are another story. It simply can’t provide reliable charging for higher-end devices. If you use tablets often, you will definitely want to pick up a more powerful power bank to take care of them.
Conclusion
If you just need a reliable smartphone charger to get you through the day, the KMASHI power bank is an excellent option. It’s ideal for people who need plenty of battery for work or personal use while away from home.
For smartphones, you will have all the extra battery power you need. This power bank will keep you safely charged up, no problem. As long as you understand the limitations of this portable charger, you will be more than happy with your investment.
KMASHI’s power bank is built really well, providing you with durability as you travel. You won’t have to worry about breaking this thing when you’re out for a bike ride or hiking on the trail. It’s lightweight and comfortable, ensuring that you can travel freely without feeling weighed down.
